Karwar: In an accident that happened near Nagpond Cicle at Sadashivgad in Karwar taluk on Friday, nine-month-old baby was killed, while his mother sustained injuries and is getting treated at a local hospital in the city.

It is reported that the accident took place when a woman named Jayashree was walking near Nagpond Circle with her baby when Vinay, a resident of Nandangadda, lost control over his bike and hit the mother and the child. Both were immediately rushed to the district hospital but the baby could not survive.

Chittakul police have registered a case in this connection.
