Bengaluru: The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday granted a stay on the FIR filed against nine Muslim youths alleged to have been involved in the communal riots at Bantawal in Dakshina Kannada district in June.
Justice Aravind Kumar granted stay on the FIR filled by the Bantawal Town police. The petitioners, Ismail Ishaque and eight others have moved the court contending that they had no role in the riots and the police have intentionally filed FIR against them.
The Judge adjourned the matter to October 4.
