Yellapur: A 50-old man, who went to fields to bring back his cattle at his village, was attacked by a bear in Vadehakli village in Yellapur taluk on 8th September, Friday.
According to Yellapur police, the injured has identified as Ramesh Malki of Vadehakli village. He had left his cattle in the fields on Friday morning. In the evening, he went to bring back his cattle. But he was suddenly attacked by a bear which was hiding behind the bushes.
However he managed to escape from the bear and ran back to the village. The villagers took him to Yellapur taluk government hospital and after first aid, he was shifted to KIMS hospital of Hubballi for further treatment. According to doctors, the right side of his face was damaged in the attack but he is out of danger.
Forest officers, taluk panchayat president and others visited the hospital. A case has been registered with Yellapur police station.
