Belthangady: An 18-year-old boy allegedly murdered his 53-year-old relative who was a BSNL employee. The incident happened on 2nd June, Friday night at Santekatte in Belthangady. The accused reportedly surrendered before the police following the incident.

According to the sources, the deceased victim was identified as Timmappa Gowda. It was said that the accused Chandrashekar hit Timmappa on his neck using a sharp weapon that led to the latter's death. He then surrendered before Belthangady police.

In this regard, the police have registered the case of murder. The reason for the attack is not yet known.
