Bhatkal: Department of physical education, sports and games of Karnataka University Dharwad (KUD) organized intercollegiate weightlifting and power-lifting competition on 5th and 6th October at KUD Kreeda Bhavan in Dharwad.
According to physical director of Anjuman college, Mr. Kaleemullah, the boys of Anjuman degree college clinched good number of awards both in weightlifting as well as in power-lifting with different categories.
Anjuman winners in weightlifting:
* Afnan Ekkeri s/o Saleem Ekkeri 1st place (55 kg category) total 50 kg
* Ikrash Durga s/o Mubeen Durga 3rd place (73 kg category) total 100 kg
* Fuvez Karimi s/o Riyaz Karimi 4th place (81 kg category) total 70 kg
* Zuhair Barmawar s/o Hifzurrahman Barmawar 2nd place (89 kg category) total 150 kg
In Power-lifting:
* Afnan Ekkeri s/o Saleem Ekkeri 5th place (59 kg category) total 210 kg
* Ruman Udyavar s/o Khalid Udyavar 2nd place (59 kg category) total 325 kg
* Tabrez Sheikh s/o Abdul Majid Sheikh 4th place (66 kg category) total 290 kg
* Ikrash Durga s/o Mubeen Durga 4th (74 kg category) total 265 kg
* Fuvez Karimi s/o Riyaz Karimi 4th place (83 kg category) total 270 kg
