Bhatkal: The much awaited grand inaugural event for the centenary celebration of the state's prestigious educational organization, Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen kicked off in prestigious way here at Anjumanabad, Bhatkal.
Present as the chief guest in the event, Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Vastanvi, founder of Jamia Islamia Ishaatul Uloom, congratulated the founders and management of Anjuman for its grand success in educating youth since a century. He lauded the founders of Anjuman by expressing his thoughts for their success in accomplishing the dreams. He said that Educational organization plays vital role in building community, which Anjuman have obtained it in Bhatkal and is doing an excellent job in the field of providing knowledge. It is great that Anjuman runs many institutes along with Engineering college. But, it should not limit its boundary until this and have to look forward to come up with an Medical college in the town, he asked.
District incharge Minister, RV Deshpande, who was present as the guest, in his speech, said, a century ago it was a miracle when an educational organization was started by minorities, which have now turned into a proud moment. Thinking of education in those days was a difficult task, into which the Anjuman was much concerned with empowerment of women's education. He made Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen as the educational organization which runs much number of institutes in the entire Uttara Kannada district.
Further speaking, Urban development Minister UT Khader, said that students' life is golden life. The youth are the assets of the nation and they need to be given a quality education. Anjuman has become a finest example for providing valuable teachings. Bhatkal has a very close relationship with Dakshina Kannada district. "Around 110 crore rupees have been approved by my department for UGD work in Bhatkal, which will be soon sanctioned", he said.
Further speaking, Former Minister Tanveer Sait, expressed his happiness over Anjuman for successfully completing hundred years of journey. It is great achievement to Anjuman which has educated generations, when thinking of education in the Muslim community itself was difficult task. There is continuous increase in number of educational organizations in the state nowadays in which many such organization should come up where Muslim community can be developed.
Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik, in his address to the audience, said, he is proud of being an alumni of Anjuman. He said that it will be a memorable moment for him as Anjuman has completed hundred years during his MLA tenure. Many have build their future from Anjuman. Anjuman have always focussed on providing quality education, and have never been on making money, he noted.
Jukaku Abdur Rahim, president of Anjuman, also spoke on the occasion. Anjuman secretary Siddique Ismail briefly explained about the developments involved in Anjuman.
Convenor of Anjuman Centenary celebration event, MJ Abdur Raqeeb, welcomed the guests and the audience, while Prof Abdur Rauf Savanoor introduced the guests.
Qazi of Markazi Khalifa Jamaat Ul Muslimeen was present as the guest speaker.
Meanwhile, around 70 Anjuman staffs were felicitated for their excellent service for more than 20 years.
On this occasion, Anjuman's former general secretary DH Shabbar Saheb, Chief Qazi of Bhatkal Jamaat Ul Muslimeen Maulana Iqbal Mulla Nadvi, President of Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem Muzammil Qazia, Zahid Ruknuddin, Mohsin Shabandari, Ishaq Shabandari, Former MLA JD Naik, Syed Abdul Rahim Batin, SM Syed Abdul Azeem Ambari amongst many other personalities were present on the stage.
