Bhatkal: A biker was killed on the spot after a collision between a private bus and a motorcycle on the Murdeshwar–Basti Makki National Highway in Bhatkal taluk on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Joseph D’Souza (40), a resident of the nearby Ternamakki area. The accident occurred at around 8 pm.

According to police, the private bus was travelling from Bhatkal towards Bengaluru via Sagar, while the biker, Joseph D’Souza, was attempting to cross the road. During this time, the speeding bus reportedly hit the motorcycle, resulting in severe injuries and causing his death on the spot.

Upon receiving information, Murdeshwar PSI Hanumant Baradar, along with his team, rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Bhatkal government hospital for post-mortem.

Murdeshwar police have registered a case and are conducting further investigation.
