Bhatkal: The Eid al fitr wll be celebrated in Bhatkal and parts of Coastal Karnataka on Wednesday 6th July as crescent moon not spotted anywhere, said Bhatkal Qazi Maulana Iqbal Mulla Nadvi and Maulana Khawaja Moinuddin Akrami Madani. They informed that the people of coastal Kanara kept an eye out for the crescent moon after maghrib prayer on Monday evening, but the moon was not spotted.

Udupi and Mangalore Qazi also declared that today 5th July will be the last day of Ramzan and Eid il fitr will be celebrating tomorrow Wednesday in both the districts.

It was said that it was highly unlikely for anyone to witness the crescent on Monday evening, however people from the whole areas were gone outside and tried to spot the crescent moon, as per yearly custom. The quazi have also been asked to look out for the crescent moon and inform the Jamaat.
