Bhatkal: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government First Grade College, Bhatkal, has been selected for the Best NSS Unit and Best NSS Program Officer State Award for the academic year 2022-23. The announcement was made by the State NSS Cell, Karnataka University, Dharwad.

According to an official press release issued by the college principal, Nagesh Shetty, the prestigious award will be conferred on March 17, 2025, at Glass House, Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru, by the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka, Thawar Chand Gehlot.

The Best NSS Unit Award will be received by Principal Nagesh Shetty, while the Best NSS Program Officer Award will be presented to Vaishali G.R., the college's NSS Program Officer.

The recognition highlights the college’s exemplary contribution to community service and student engagement through NSS initiatives.
