Bhatkal: The Department of Agriculture, Bhatkal, has invited applications for the 2026–27 Taluk and District-level Best Farmer Awards under the ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) scheme.

According to a press release issued by Assistant Director of Agriculture Sridhar I. Naik, five farmers from Bhatkal taluk will be selected for the Taluk-level awards, while one farmer will be chosen to represent the taluk for the District-level award. The selected farmers will be honoured with a cash prize and a certificate of appreciation.

Eligible farmers with notable achievements in integrated crop management, water resource management, organic farming, adoption of modern agricultural technologies, horticulture, dairy farming, fisheries, sericulture, agro-processing, agroforestry and other innovative agricultural practices may apply.

Application forms can be obtained from the Office of the Assistant Director of Agriculture, Bhatkal. Duly filled applications, along with the required information and photograph, must be submitted on or before August 31.
