Bhatkal: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Vice-President Maulana Waliullah Sayeedi Falahi visited the office of the century-old social organisation, Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, during his visit to Bhatkal and held discussions with its executive members on various social, educational and welfare initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Falahi praised the organisation for its more than a century of service in the fields of social reform, education and community welfare. He said Tanzeem had built a strong legacy of public service in Bhatkal and the surrounding region, benefiting people across different sections of society.
He suggested that the organisation expand the scope of its welfare activities by establishing a dedicated wing to extend assistance to poor and underprivileged non-Muslim families in and around Bhatkal. Stressing that Islam upholds the values of compassion, justice and humanity, he said serving the poor and the distressed without discrimination on the basis of religion, caste or community was both a humanitarian duty and an Islamic responsibility.
Maulana Falahi said such an initiative would help strengthen communal harmony, mutual trust and social cohesion while further enhancing the organisation's contribution to society.
Tanzeem executive Maulavi Yassir Barmawar Nadvi gave a brief introduction to the organisation and outlined its activities. Tanzeem General Secretary Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi conducted the proceedings, while President Inayatullah Shabandari delivered the presidential address. Executive member Yunus Ruknuddin proposed the vote of thanks. Tanzeem Vice-President Qamar Sada, Bilal Qamri, Abdul Salam and local leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind were also present.
