Bhatkal Markazi Khalifa Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen holds annual meeting, stresses family values and youth welfare

Bhatkal: The Markazi Khalifa Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen, Bhatkal, held its annual meeting at Khalifa Jami Masjid on Friday night, where the organisation’s annual report and financial statement were presented. Religious scholars also addressed the gathering, highlighting the need to strengthen family values, address social issues and guide the younger generation.

Chief Qazi of the Jamaat, Maulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Madani, said marriage was not merely a social ceremony but a sacred act of worship. He urged parents to provide their children with Islamic, moral and family education before marriage to help them build stable and peaceful families.

He said daughters should be taught patience, wisdom, respect for their husbands and in-laws, and the importance of preserving family ties. Sons, he added, should be taught to respect their wives, fulfil their rights and treat them with kindness, compassion and fairness. He stressed that family disputes should be addressed through patience, dialogue and reconciliation rather than allowing minor disagreements to lead to separation.

Maulana Akrami also urged people to uphold the values of hospitality while ensuring that guests did not become a burden on their hosts. Addressing the youth, he cautioned them against drugs, immoral behaviour, illegal activities and unlawful earnings, saying such practices could not only jeopardise their future but also lead to legal troubles, regret and the breakdown of families. He also called upon citizens to respect and abide by the laws of the country and refrain from any activity that violates the law.

The programme began with the recitation of the Quran along with its translation. Maulavi Tafheem Siddiqa Nadvi and Maulavi Hasan DF Nadvi conducted the programme. Jamaat Vice-President II, Mohtisham Mohammed Hashim, delivered the welcome address, while General Secretary Ismail Jubapu presented the annual report. Finance Secretary Maulavi Ismail Anjum Gangavalli Nadvi presented the financial statement.

Members were given an opportunity to raise questions, which were answered by the Jamaat office-bearers. Deputy Qazi Maulavi Ayman Ali Qamari Nadvi also addressed the gathering before the Chief Qazi’s speech.

Vice-President Dr Zubair Kola shared his observations, followed by the presidential address by S.M. Syed Mohiuddin Market. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks and a prayer led by the Chief Qazi. A large number of people attended the annual gathering.
