Bhatkal: District In-charge and Minister for Fisheries, Ports, and Inland Transport, Mankal Vaidya, expressed his commitment to providing comprehensive facilities for the better treatment of patients and the overall development of the hospital. He also emphasized the responsibility of doctors in ensuring a pain-free and trouble-free experience for all patients seeking treatment. These remarks were made during a review meeting held at the Bhatkal Taluk Government Hospital, following the Minister's visit.

Vaidya stated that he will not allow any reduction in the facilities provided by the government hospital during his tenure. He pledged to take necessary actions for the hospital's development. The Minister commended the doctors at the government hospital and regarded the presence of a large number of patients as an indicator of effective treatment. He urged the doctors to continue serving the public with the same dedication.

Regarding medication for economically disadvantaged patients, Vaidya assured that no poor patient would be required to obtain medicine from outside. He emphasized that the government would provide all necessary assistance for hospital requirements. Furthermore, he instructed DySP Shrikant K, present at the meeting, to assign police personnel for the hospital's security.

Attendees of the meeting expressed their views, highlighting the need for a CT scan machine at the hospital to eliminate the necessity of transferring accident victims to Kundapur and Mangalore. They also stressed the need for an additional 50 beds in the hospital, considering the current admission rate of over a hundred patients, surpassing the hospital's existing capacity of a hundred beds. Vaidya assured immediate steps would be taken to address these requirements.

Dr. Priya from the Murdeshwar Primary Health Center raised concerns about water shortage at Murdeshwar Hospital, noting that the issue had been brought to the attention of officials multiple times with no action taken.
