Bhatkal: The Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya paid a surprise visit to sub registrar office and girls hostel, where he inspected the work carried out by the respective officers. He screwed the officers based on the complaints he received from the public. On Thursday he visited Byloor, Kaikini, Muttohalli and Koppa panchayats, where disorganization welcomed him in the offices. These surprise visits were the result of public questioning the MLA and holding him responsible for disorder in work done in the panchayat offices.
The public had complained that the common man who visited the panchayat office to get any work done would return empty handed, whereas the same work could be done easily with the help of a broker. The MLA questioned the staff for not responding to eleven deserving families who had come to the office earlier for the registration of "Basava Vasati yojana" and later found out that their name were missing in the lists. The MLA said that he came to know about this through media reports. He said that it was very hard for the public to take advantage of any of the government schemes if such conditions prevailed in the government offices.
Sub registrar officer Jayshree Hagde told the MLA that network problem was the main reason behind the disorder of work being done in the offices. Fumed MLA snapped that they would face the network problem only when the poor families visited them and they have all the facilities for the brokers.
Addressing the staff, MLA said that the public come to the govt. offices trusting the officers and the cases of misbehavior disappoints them. He alerted the staff saying he does not want the villagers coming from faraway places to wait and return back empty handed.
'If the computers have problem, get them repaired. If there is a network problem, find the solution. If there is shortage of computers, write to me in person and I will arrange for more computers. Do whatever it needs to get the public satisfied, but don’t give them another chance to complain. The Sub registrar offices are here to help the public and if the responsible officers cannot fulfill their responsibilities do let me know', MLA warned the officers.
He advised them to do the registration work of government schemes in morning session and do the work of public property registrations in evening.

He interacted with the students to know about their problems, where the students complained about the improper food and lack of security in the hostel. MLA assured the students to resolve the problems at the earliest.
