Bhatkal: The well-known scuba diving company in the tourist destination of Murdeshwar in coastal Karnataka, Netrani Adventures, has become the target of a serious cyber fraud. Unknown individuals allegedly hacked the company’s official Google Business account, altered its details, and added a fake contact number. A formal complaint has been filed at the Murdeshwar Police Station.

Speaking to SahilOnline, Ganesh Harikanth, the owner of Netrani Adventures, said that a fraudulent contact number had been added to their Google account and that attempts were being made to deceive customers and collect money in the company’s name.

A complaint has been lodged at both the Murdeshwar Police Station and the Cyber Crime Department, following which an investigation has been initiated.

According to the complaint, the hacker took control of the company’s Google profile and inserted their own WhatsApp number, 7090059002, to directly contact customers seeking to book scuba diving activities through Netrani Adventures. It is suspected that the hacker posed as a company representative to win customers’ trust and extract money.

Calling the incident “a serious example of business fraud,” company owner Ganesh Harikanth urged customers and tourists to verify official and authenticated numbers before making any payment. He emphasized that the company accepts bookings only through its verified channels.

The company has issued a special advisory to the public, stating that bookings for scuba diving should be made only through: Official website: www.netraniadventures.com or Official mobile number: 9900431111

Netrani Adventures has also appealed to tourists and the general public to immediately inform the Cyber Crime Department if they receive any payment requests from suspicious numbers, links, or unidentified sources, so that further fraud can be prevented.
