Bhatkal: The police department has submitted an appeal to the Bhatkal municipality in order to take appropriate measures regarding the management of stray animals which has for a long time created havoc for pedestrians and vehicles plying on the roads of Bhatkal.
On one hand, the unclaimed animals has put the masses into difficulty by aboding roads and roadsides in the taluk, especially in town limits, while on other, the self-claimed activists of certain organizations are bent upon creating unwanted nuisance regarding the thefts of these unclaimed, freely wandering animals.
Sahilonline had published a special report on the issue, the immediate impact of which could be seen in the form of police appeal. The police department has taken a first step towards solving the issue and has asked the municipality to allocate a land from its possessions for tying-up the unclaimed animals and make needed arrangements for management of same. The appeal has also asked the officials to take up an advertising expedition to create awareness among the owners of these animals.
