Bhatkal: Murdeshwar police conducted a raid on a gambling spot operating through speed cards at Bailur in the taluk, arresting two persons and seizing two motorcycles along with cash.

According to a police complaint, a team led by Murdeshwar Police Sub-Inspector Hanamant Biradar raided the spot near a small shop along the Bailur roadside. During the raid, Dinesh Iraiyya Devadiga, Ishwar Manjunath Devadiga, Subraya Nagappa Naik, Praveen Ravi Naik and others were found engaged in gambling using speed cards.

Police seized ₹6,020 in cash and two motorcycles from the spot and arrested the accused identified as Dinesh and Manjunath. Meanwhile, Subraya, Praveen and the owner/rider of one motorcycle managed to escape.

A case has been registered at the Murdeshwar police station, and further investigation is underway while efforts are on to trace the absconding accused.
