Bhatkal: Prominent community leader, former President of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, and a key figure associated with several educational and social organizations, including SahilOnline Media, Mr. S.M. Syed Khalilur Rehman, affectionately known as CA Khaleel Bhau, passed away in Dubai at the age of 86 after a brief illness. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un.
Mr. Khalil was admitted to Dubai's Aster Hospital Mankhool on Tuesday after complaining of severe weakness in his legs. While undergoing treatment, he suffered a sudden double heart attack around midnight, which severely deteriorated his condition and necessitated his transfer to the ICU. Despite all efforts by the medical team, he could not recover and passed away in the early hours of Thursday. May Allah forgive him, grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous, and give patience to his family and loved ones. Ameen.
The news of Mr. Khalil's demise spread rapidly across social media, where tributes poured in, acknowledging his immense contributions to the community. Messages of condolence and prayers for his forgiveness went viral, with hundreds of individuals posting heartfelt prayers and reflections on his exemplary life on their WhatsApp statuses. His passing left the entire town of Bhatkal mourning, casting a shadow of grief and loss over the community.
During his tenure as President and General Secretary of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, Mr. Khalil played a transformative role in elevating the organization's educational institutions to new heights. Additionally, he was instrumental in establishing numerous schools and colleges in Bhatkal and the surrounding areas. Following his demise, several educational institutions, including all Anjuman institutions, the renowned Jamia Islamia seminary, Shams English Medium School, Naunihal Central School, Ali Public school, Madrasa Islahul Banaat and Ideal English medium school Kumta declared a day of mourning.
Upon hearing of Mr. Khalil's passing, the prominent social organization Majlis-e-Islah-o-Tanzeem of Bhatkal canceled its scheduled administrative meeting this morning. It was also announced that a joint condolence gathering, organized by the town’s five Markazi Jamaats, will be held tomorrow (Friday) after Isha prayers at the Bhatkal Jamia Masjid.
Currently, the deceased's body remains at Aster Hospital in Dubai. After completing formalities, it will be handed over to the family, and the burial is expected to take place later this evening in Dubai.
