Bhatkal: Muslim communities in Coastal Karnataka are gearing up to celebrate Eid Al Fitr on Wednesday, 10th April following the sighting of the crescent moon in Kumta.
Qazis of Bhatkal announced the Eid date after confirming the sighting, extending the celebrations to Bhatkal, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada districts.
Alongside Coastal Karnataka, Kerala will also celebrate Eid on Wednesday. Reports from the Gulf confirm that Eid Al Fitr will be observed on the same day, marking the completion of 30 days of Ramadan in their respective region.
After Maghrib prayers, Muslims in diligently searched for the Shawwal crescent, reporting their sightings to the Jamaatul Muslimeen office in Kumta, leading to the official announcement of the Eid date.
