Mangaluru: A Bhatkal origin student was killed in a tragic accident that took place on the evening of September 21 at Nagori near Mangaluru when his bike accidentally hit a tipper.

The deceased student has been identified as Ahmed Rayyan (19), Son of Riyaz Channa. Ahmed Rayyan is said to be a student of Mangalore's Sahyadri engineering college, studying 2nd year mechanical engineering. He stayed at Bhatkal hostel at Mangaluru.

It is said that no one showed any sense of urgency in shifting him to hospital for more than half an hour of the incident, due to which he succumbed on the spot.

As soon as the information spread, members of Bhatkal hostel and Bhatkal Muslim Jamat Mangaluru reached  the hospital where the body was shifted.

A case has been registered in Mangaluru rural police station and further investigations are on.

It maybe noted that after post mortem, the body will be  taken to Bhatkal.
