Bhatkal: With the deadline for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls approaching, the Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, Bhatkal, has urged eligible voters to complete and submit their pending voter enumeration forms, stating that around 7,000 forms in Bhatkal town and nearly 25,000 across the taluk are yet to be returned to Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

Addressing a press conference at the Tanzeem SIR Helpline Centre on Bunder Road, Tanzeem president Inayatullah Shabandari appealed to those who have not yet completed the process to visit the centre, where volunteers are providing free assistance in filling out and submitting the forms.

The helpline centre, established by Tanzeem with the support of the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation, has been assisting residents with the voter verification process for the past month.

Helpline Centre convener Mubasshir Hussain Hallare said the facility will also begin accepting Form 6 applications from Sunday, July 26, allowing eligible residents to register as new voters. Those who will attain the age of 18 on or before October 1, 2026, can submit Form 6 to have their names included in the electoral roll and obtain a voter ID.

Hallare said the initiative would particularly benefit thousands of Bhatkal natives working in Gulf countries. He noted that some overseas residents, despite possessing all the required identity documents, may find that their names are missing from the electoral roll. Such eligible applicants can also submit Form 6 at the helpline centre to register as voters.

Tanzeem leaders urged residents not to delay the process and to make use of the free assistance available at the helpline centre to ensure their electoral records are updated before the deadline.

Tanzeem vice-president Qamar Sada and General Secretary Azeezur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi were also present at the press conference.
