Bhatkal: In a tragic road accident between the KSRTC bus and the IRB truck, the drivers of both the vehicles sustained severe injuries after they went on crashing head-on at Sodigadde cross here in Bhatkal on the evening of 22nd August, Tuesday.

As the per the information received, it is said that the KSRTC bus was heading towards Bhatkal from Kundapur, while the truck was in the opposite direction during the time of incident. Eyewitness say that incident occurred when the truck driver lost control of the vehicle and went on hitting the bus.

The injured bus driver was identified as Manja Naik and the truck driver as Sunil Jaswar of Madhya Pradesh. They were shifted to a private hospital in Kundapur for advanced treatment after providing initial treatments at Bhatkal govt hospital. Also, around four passengers in the bus sustained minor injuries, who were identified as Savitri Maasti Devadiga, Maasti Devadiga, Pandurang Moger and Shridhar Shetty.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station and further investigations are carried on.
