Karwar: Karnataka DyCM Dr. G Parameshwar on Saturday visited Saterdevi temple in Hankon near Karwar to offer prayers. He was accorded warm welcome from Karwar congress party workers including former MLA Satish Sail.
Briefing reporters after offering prayers, Parameshwar said, “BJP, especially its State President B S Yeddyurappa, is leaving no stone unturned to destabilise JD(S)-Congress coalition government in State. But they will never achieve the ‘goal’ as JD(S) and Congress MLAs are united”.
He also claimed that the rumour that 24 MLAs of the coalition government were in contact with the BJP was not true. “The coalition government has been formed for the development of the State and welfare of the people and it will not topple in any case”, he said expressing confidence.
When reporters asked his views on Chief Minister Kumaraswamy’s call to people to revolt against BJP, he defended the CM saying Kumaraswamy asked people to revolt against those trying to destabilise the government and against those who ‘buying’ MLAs and giving derogatory statements. Sateri temple is open for only one week every year. A fair is held during that time. The devotees believe that the door of the sanctum opens by itself on the first day of the fair.
