Blood donation camp at Murdeshwar

Bhatkal: A blood donation camp was held at Human Welfare Trust  Hall in Murdeshwar by Shaheen Club, Alwafa Sports, Gousia Murdeshwar in association with the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation and Indian Red Cross Society Blood Bank, Kundapur on Sunday.

As many as 55 units of blood were collected which included 15 bottles of A+ve, 17 bottles of B+ve, 2 bottles of B-ve, 14 bottles of O+ve, 3 bottle O-ve, 3 bottle of AB+ve and 1 bottles of AB-ve. However, not a single donor for A-ve blood type was found.

It is a well-known fact that patients from Bhatkal, Murdeshwar ,Manki and surrounding places are sent to Kundapur and Mangalore for further treatment due to lack of quality medical treatment in the region. 

All the blood banks in Kundapur including Indian Red Cross Society, have put forth the conditions that Rs. 750 should be paid if one requires blood during an emergency and in return, should donate their blood to the bank.

On the occasion, Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation President Imtiyaz Udayawar, Taluka Panchayat Member Mohsin Jucka, Abul Faiz, Mohammed Sadique Matta, Naseef Khalifa, imtiyaz Damda, Ali AHmed, Zareef Hajeeb, Nisar Hegde, Manna Waseem, Mahmood Ganagwali, Harda Salahuddin, Zishan Ali Akbara, Veerender and many others were present.
