Bhatkal: The body of a fisherman who went missing after his country boat capsized off the Jali Kodi coast in Bhatkal taluk on Tuesday was recovered from the seashore near Mundalli on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Manjunath Beti Moger (57), a resident of Jali Kodi village.
According to sources, local fishermen spotted the body washed ashore near Mundalli Mogerkeri on Wednesday morning and alerted the authorities. The body was later shifted to the Government Hospital, Bhatkal, where a post-mortem examination was conducted before it was handed over to the family.
Manjunath had gone missing on Tuesday after his traditional country boat capsized in the Arabian Sea while he was fishing alone.
Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased's son, Omprakash Moger (32), Bhatkal Rural Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.
