Missing fisherman traced at Gangolli beach; Muslims help in conducting final rites

Kundapur: In an unfortunate incident at Gangolli bunder, an Odisha-based fisherman Daya Sagar (35)  who had been missing by drowning in Arabian sea in the late night of 4th September, traced in the early morning of 5th September, Monday at the same spot. It is reported that the body was finally buried with hindu customs but by local Muslims

It is said that, he was drowned in the sea after his legs slipped when he was crossing from one boat to another.

But today his body was traced, after which members of Gangolli 24X7 helpline service with local police reached the spot. Later the body was shifted to Kundapur Govt hospital for post mortem. Since, it was unable for the family members to reach Gangolli from Odisha, one of his relative Nishanth from Udupi reached Kundapur with prior permission from his parents to proceed with post mortem. The police handed over the body to Nishanth who with the help of Gangolli 24X7 helpline service buried the body at Gangolli hindu graveyard.

Members of Gangolli 24X7 helpline service led by SahilOnline Kundapur correspondent Ibrahim Gangolli played a prominent role for his funeral to reach till buried. Other members of this service Maulana Shakeel, Abdul Subhan, Haji Muzammil, Muhammed Nadeem, Abdul Majeed were present during final rites. Boat owner Bhavani Shankar, Lokesh and Rajkumar were also present.
