Dubai: The ongoing Bhatkal Premier League (BPL) T20 cricket tournament at the Sharjah JMR Oval Stadium near Ajman has entered its decisive phase, with two high-voltage semi-final matches scheduled for Sunday, January 25.
The first semi-final will begin at 3:30 pm between AZ Diamond Riders and Rising Stars, while the second semi-final at 7:00 pm will feature Ras Bahar Challengers against T2 Party Officials. In last Sunday’s matches, T2 Party Officials defeated Rising Stars by seven wickets, while Ras Bahar Challengers beat Luxury Zone Titans by eight wickets. In another exciting encounter, AZ Diamond Riders outplayed Dr Hanif Warriors by seven wickets, and DVS United secured a three-wicket victory over RB Chargers.
In the Rising Stars vs T2 Party Officials clash, Rising Stars were bowled out for 106 in the 17th over, while T2 Party Officials chased down the target comfortably in just 14 overs, losing only three wickets.
In the Luxury Zone vs Ras Bahar match, Luxury Zone were all out for 121 in the 19th over. Riding on a brilliant 78-run knock by Ismail Khan, Ras Bahar reached 126 for two in only 12 overs to register an easy win.
In the Dr Hanif Warriors vs AZ Diamond Riders encounter, despite a solid batting display by Mohammad Aqib that helped Hanif Warriors post 161 in 20 overs, Mohammad Ali’s explosive unbeaten 63 off just 26 balls powered AZ Diamond Riders to a convincing seven-wicket victory, achieving the target in only 13 overs.
In the RB Chargers vs DVS United match, RB Chargers scored 159 for seven in their allotted overs, but DVS United responded strongly, reaching 163 for seven in 14 overs to win by three wickets.
With both semi-finals expected to be fiercely contested, excitement among cricket fans is running high.
