Kumta: At least two persons killed instantly on the spot and five others sustained grievous injuries after the car in which they were traveling in collided with the bus from the opposite direction. The incident occurred on the morning of 24th July, Monday on Divgi NH-66 in the outskirts of Kumta.

In the accident, five people including three years old kid sustained serious injuries after which they were rushed to Manipal hospital after initial treatment at Kumta Govt hospital

The deceased include car driver Prasanna and Shashikala (52), while the injured were identified as Nandini, Saumya, Shashank, Shashwat, and Sachin. All are the residents of Mangaluru.

The impact made the front portion of the car to damage completely, while the bus too was seen damaged a bit. Traffic breakdown for a while was reported on the national highway due to the incident.

In this regard, a case has been registered in Kumta police station.
