Belagavi: Raichur’s S L N College of Engineering student Bushra Mateen will get the highest number of 16 gold medals during the 21st annual convocation of Visvesvaraya Technology University (VTU) to be held on March 10 (Thursday) at its headquarters Jnana Sangama here, said VTU Vice-Chancellor Karisiddappa.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, he said, among the first ten highest number of gold medal winners, nine of them are girls which is an indication of women empowerment.
Prof Karisiddappa said, B N M Institute of Technology, Bengaluru Electronics & Communication Engineering student Swathi Dayanand would be presented seven gold medals, KLES Dr M S Sheshgiri College of Engineering & Technology Mechanical Engineering student Vivek Bhadrakali would be presented seven gold medals and Ballari Institute of Technology & Management, Bellary Electrical & Electronics Engineering student Chandana M would be presented seven gold medals.
He said, C M R Institute of Technology, Bengaluru Computer Science & Engineering student Ramya T would be presented six gold medals, R N S Institute of Technology, Bengaluru Electronics & Instrumentation student Pragna N would be presented four gold medals, JNNCE, Shivamogga Information & Science Engineering student Pallavi P would get four gold medals and R N S Institute of Technology, Bengaluru Master of Business Administration student Tejashwini R would get four gold medals.
R N S Institute of Technology, Bengaluru Master of Computer Applications student Ashwitha N would be presented three gold medals and UBDT College of Engineering, VTU Constituent College, Davangere MTech student Savitha H T would be presented three gold medals, he informed.
He said, in BE/BTech rank list, Acharya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru has bagged the highest number of 18 ranks followed by KLES Dr M S Sheshgiri College of Engineering & Technology, Belagavi with 15 ranks. Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bengaluru has bagged 12 ranks, Oxford College of Engineering, Bengaluru has got 12 ranks, Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru has obtained 11 ranks, R N S Institute of Technology, Bengaluru has bagged 10 ranks. In ME/MTech rank list, Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bengaluru has bagged 12 ranks, Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi has got 11 ranks, Department of PG Studies, VTU Kalaburgi has bagged 10 ranks and UBDT College of Engineering, Davangere has bagged 9 ranks, he said.
