Byndoor: In an ill-fated incident which took place at Ganganadu, Byndoor police limits of Udupi district on Monday, a family of four allegedly attempted suicides by consuming poison. The incident left two children dead and the husband and a wife battling for life at KMC in Manipal hospital.

The incident came to light at around 10:30am, when the neighbors noticed unusual silence at the house of Shankaranarayana Hebbar, a resident of Ganganadu near Byndoor.

 Ashwin Kumar Hebbar, a 10th standard student and his sister, Aishwarya Lakshmi, a 8th standard student, were found dead. The couple, Hebbar and his wife Mahalakshmi, was rushed to KMC Hospital, Manipal.

It is said that Hebbar was hired in agriculture and catering activities. The reason behind the action is still a mystery.

A case has been registered at Byndoor police station and investigations are on.
