Mangaluru: A 2.5-years-old kid drowned in a Panambur beach in Mangaluru and is reported to be missing after the terrifying incident that took place in the evening of Wednesday, 5th October, when their boat capsized due to the technical reason.

The missing victim, Muhammad Sadan, was one among the seven family members boarding the boat when the incident was reported.

Shami Illahi, father of the missing kid, who is employed in gulf, had been to his native on vacation. He along with his son and other five family members had come to Panambur beach on a picnic.

The boat, on which they went riding, stopped automatically after moving a distance of about 500 meters due to technical reason. The heavy lashing waves washed the family away from the boat leading to capsizing of boat. Other than the kid, all the members were successful in reaching the shore by swimming after wearing the life jackets. Unfortunately the kid got drowned and went missing. 

The police, coastal security police and other representatives of Panambur beach were engaged in search operation. The lifejacket worn by the baby was found, whereas the baby was still missing.
