Bhatkal: Two women were injured when a car overturned at Kumta National Highway on its return from Goa International Airport after dropping off a mother-son duo who were going to Hajj pilgrimage on 20th August, Saturday.

According to the sources, Roshan Zameer Champa and his mother Bibi Zubeida Champa had embarked on the Hajj pilgrimage and their 8 family members including two kids had gone to drop them off at Goa International Airport. While returning from Airport, the tyre of the Scorpio car in which they were travelling burst out because of which the car lost its control and toppled at Kumta at 7.30 am.

Two women present in the car sustained grave injuries.  The victims have been identified as Kausar and Shakira. It is reported that others had suffered minor injuries.

Kausar was immediately rushed to Manipal hospital and Shakira was initially taken to Kundapur and later shifted to Mangaluru.
