Yellapur: Around 63 cattle being taken to Bhatkal in two different container lorries allegedly without proper care were seized by the police and have arrested eight people in this connection.
Police said a team on a routine vehicle check, found the cattle inside the container during the early hours of 16th August, Thursday here at Sabarageri cross of Yellapur, which was being taken to Bhatkal from Zahirabad of Telangana. It contained 31 cattle which values nearly Rs. 3.10 lakh. The accused here are identified as Ali Hasan Noor Hasan, Aslam Yaseen, Usman Yameen and Zeeshan Ameen. All residents of Telangana state.
Further, another container which was trafficking 32 cattle from Sangareddy of Telangana to Bhatkal, was held near Jodukeri. The estimated value of cattle in this container was around Rs. 3 lakh. The accused arrested in this case were identified as Gyara Yadgiri Jangayya, Muhammad Asad Khan, Muhammad Khaja Ismail Qureshi and Seenu Sailu.
A raid was led under the guidance of CPI Dr. Manjunath.
A team of PSI Shridar, SR A.Y Kamble, Naveen Naik, ASI Narayan Rathod, HC Venkatesh Teggin and others were present in a raid.
