Bhatkal: The Creative Friends Sports and Cultural Association, Bhatkal, has installed CCTV cameras at three key locations in the Mood Bhatkal-Muttali area to enhance public safety and help prevent crime.
The cameras have been installed at Mood Bhatkal Bypass, Mood Bhatkal Hebbagil Cross and Muttalli Railway Station Cross. City police station PSI Naveen Naik inaugurated the CCTV system.
Naveen Naik said CCTV footage would help prevent crimes and assist police in identifying suspects and investigating cases. He appreciated the association's initiative to work with the police department for public safety.
Local leader Srinivas Naik said the cameras would help monitor suspicious movement and incidents such as theft, particularly at night, as the area is close to the national highway and railway station. He also noted that CCTV surveillance could help address recent incidents of cattle theft reported in the area.
The CCTV system installed at the three locations has been handed over to the police department for monitoring.
