Karwar: District Minister R V Deshpande has directed the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer and District Health Officer to give timely treatment to H1N1 patients and take action to prevent further spread of the disease.

His instruction came following a report on rising H1N1 cases in Uttar Kannada district.

The Minister also directed the officials to create awareness among people on how to prevent the spread of the disease.
