Bhatkal: Police arrested a person for attacking the government bus driver at the Bhatkal bus stand on Thursday afternoon,alleging that the bus he was driving brushed against a woman walking on the road. 

The arrested is Moodbhatkal-resident Anand Jatta Devadiga. The other two accused have been identified as Shankar Naik from Belke and Ganpathi Naik from Hanuman Nagar, who are currently absconding.

According to the sources, Siddapur-based bus driver Siddaramappa Gowda (34) started the bus from the bus stand when it brushed against a woman walking at a distance but fortunately, the woman was not harmed in any way. Furious over the fact, some youth present at the bus stand started fighting with the driver. A verbal attack ensued between the driver and the youths. However, the woman in question requested them not to prolong the matter and went on her way. Then, many people mediated and stopped the fight.

Meanwhile,  two youths present started the fight once again with the driver. Shortly, PSI Kodgonti arrived with his force and arrested a man and obtained information about the other two accused. He assured the accused will be arrested soon.
