A 30-year-old man from Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada district has been arrested for sending obscene messages to a married woman, police said.
The woman, in her complaint to police, said the man, allegedly under a fake name, had sent obscene messages to her on WhatsApp for the last six months and even used to call her.

India logged 37,875 new cases of coronavirus infection taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,30,96,718, while the active cases declined to 3,91,256, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court Tuesday refused to entertain a plea seeking directions for advancement of facilities for athletics as also availability of latest training infrastructure and funds to the sports persons saying there has to be individual drive.

Seventy-eight people, including five children, have been hospitalised with symptoms of diarrhoea in neighbouring Kamarhati area of North 24 Parganas district, health department officials said.
