The Centre on Monday told the Supreme Court that the 'One Nation One Ration Card' (ONORC) plan aims to empower all National Food Security Act (NFSA) migrant beneficiaries to access their foodgrains from any fair price shop anywhere in the country by using their existing ration card with biometric authentication and the plan makes food security "portable".

After the Karnataka government announced some relaxation in 19 districts in COVID-19 induced lockdown, auto-rickshaws and cabs resumed operations in Dharwad from Monday.
As per the notification, under the rules auto-rickshaws and cabs will ply till 7 pm while all industries have been allowed to resume operations with 50 per cent staff.

Orange alert has been announced for the coastal districts of Karnataka till June 17 as the entire state is very likely to experience widespread rainfall, the director of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) unit of Bengaluru CS Patil said.
According to Patil, the coastal Karnataka and South-interior Karnataka experienced widespread rainfall on Sunday.
