    India's COVID-19 tally mounted to 2,49,65,463 on Monday with 2,81,386 fresh COVID-19 cases, the lowest in 27 days, while the death toll climbed to 2,74,390 with 4,106 fatalities, according to Union health ministry data. The number of active cases stands at 35,16,997, accounting for 14.09 per cent of the total infections.

    The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ship Aryaman on Sunday night rescued IFB Jesus with 12 crew members stranded 35 nautical miles off Kochi. The ICG further informed that boat was taken under tow by the ICG ship braving rough seas and brought to Kochi on 16 May.

     One person was killed and over 70 houses got damaged in Uttara Kannada district due to cyclone Tauktae on Sunday, informed the Karnataka Government.     Two persons died in Goa on Sunday in separate incidents caused due to gusty winds triggered by cyclone Tauktae, which also damaged hundreds of houses and blocked some highways in parts of the state as trees fell at several points, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
