Murugappa Group recorded a turnover of Rs. 30, 023 Crores during 2016-17 (last year Rs. 29,395 Crores). Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) posted a growth of 34%, at Rs. 4, 065 Crores (last year Rs.3, 032 Crores). In a tragic development, the five-year-old boy who was rescued from a 100 ft deep borewell here, has died.
Satyam had been rescued earlier today and sent to the nearby hospital for further treatment.

Aadhaar-issuing authority UIDAI has asked research firm Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) to explain its sensational claim that 13 crore Aadhaar numbers were "leaked" and provide details of servers where they are stored.
