Career bureaucrat Anil Baijal was today appointed as the new Lt Governor of Delhi, a post which has fallen vacant after sudden resignation of Najeeb Jung.

Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) apprehended 36 fishermen and seized six boats in the Arabian sea off Jakhau coast in Gujarat on Wednesday, National Fisherworkers’ Forum (NFF) said. The Cabinet on Wednesday approved promulgation of an Ordinance to make possession of a large number of scrapped banknotes a penal offence making holding of old Rs. 1,000 and 500 notes after March 31st beyond a threshold amount a criminal offence.
