Karwar: Members of State Government Hostels & Residential Schools Outsourced Employees’ Association protested near deputy commissioner’s office, on 26th May, Friday, urging the government to stop the process of filling up D Group posts through direct recruitment in government hostels and residential schools, but regularize service of existing outsourced employees.

Association convener, Yamuna Gaonkar said that the direct recruitment for around 5,000 posts would do injustice to existing contract employees.

Wages of contract workers should be increased, safety measures should be taken, leave and other facilities provided.
