Mangaluru: DC K V Rajendra said officials should not make people move from pillar to post to avail benefits of government schemes.

He was addressing a Grama Vastavya programme held as part of the ‘jilladhikarigala nade halliya kade’ initiative of the government in Sulliapadavu village in Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday.

“Deliver documents, certificates and benefits to people on time. Majority of the files under the 94C and 94CC for land have been distributed. Take initiatives to distribute all the remaining applications, if documents are in order. All files related to regularisation of land should be placed before the Akrama Sakrama samitis in villages within a month,” the DC said.

The DC directed officials to give emphasis to ensure drinking water is available for all residents in villages. Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor said that funds will be released for various development works, including roads and drainage in the village within two weeks. He directed officials to take necessary steps to maintain all check dams in the village.
