Vijayanagara Eight sheep were killed and two others seriously injured after they were hit by a Kalyan Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) bus near Kakubalu Cross in Hosapet taluk of Vijayanagara district on Monday, sources said.

The sheep, reportedly owned by a person identified as Harijan Galiappa, were near the roadside when the bus ran into them.

The bus was travelling from Emmigannur towards Hagari Bommanahalli when the accident occurred.

Eight sheep died on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries and were said to be in critical condition. The incident caused a substantial loss to the sheep owner.
