Doha Qatar: The much-anticipated BMJQ Fiesta 2.0, organized by the Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Qatar (BMJQ), concluded on Friday with a vibrant gathering that saw enthusiastic participation from people of Bhatkal and its neighboring villages, including Shirur, Byndoor, Murdeshwar, and Manki.
The event, held on February 14, began at 7 AM and continued until midnight, featuring a variety of sports and activities. The Qatar Premier League Cricket Tournament, which had been running since early January, saw its quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final matches being played. Additionally, running and football matches were organized for children under 12 years old.
A special highlight of the Fiesta was the Kids' Business Stalls, where young entrepreneurs showcased their skills by selling Bhatkali snacks, unique dishes, and beverages. The initiative aimed to instill business acumen and a sense of social responsibility among children.
The BMJQ Fiesta Organizing Committee comprised Ibad Shoupa, Ammar Gawai, Ismail Saada، Tanveer Rukunuddin and Tabish Gawai.
In the 10-over cricket tournament final, HES Challengers defeated East World XI to claim the championship. A unique rule required each team to include at least four players from neighboring towns.
Addressing the gathering, BMJQ President Maulana Abdul Azeem Rukunuddin Nadvi highlighted the importance of fostering strong ties between Bhatkal and neighboring communities. He emphasized that while many individuals from these regions live and work in Qatar, their busy schedules often limit interactions. Events like the Fiesta help strengthen relationships, enhance unity, and create a supportive network.
BMJQ Vice President Abdul Ghani Ali Akbara, Secretary Shamsuz Zuha Armar, and Joint Secretary Maulana Fuzail Armar Nadvi were also present.
Community leaders from various Jamaats of Bhatkal's neighboring villages appreciated the initiative and encouraged organizing such gatherings annually. The event concluded with a grand lunch and dinner arranged by BMJQ for all attendees.
