Mangaluru: The Surathkal police arrested two youth involved in the theft of two cars from a Car Mart shop in Hosabettu and a two-wheeler from a house in Moodbidri on Tuesday.

According to Commissioner of Police, Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, the arrested have been identified as Shafeeq (21) from Kinnipadavu, Mangaluru. The total value of the recovered stolen properties amounts to Rs 15.50 lakh. The Car Mart shop, which dealt with the sale of used cars in Hosabettu, fell victim to miscreants who forcibly entered the establishment by breaking its glass door on July 12.

The owner of the shop, Abeed, reported that several items, including a mobile phone, laptop, printer, Hyundai Creta, and Swift cars, were stolen. Following a complaint, the Surathkal police managed to arrest a minor and successfully recovered the Swift car.
