
Mangaluru: The World Consumer Rights Day was observed at P.A. First Grade College on March 15, 2025, in collaboration with University College Mangaluru. The event was held in the college seminar hall, emphasizing the significance of consumer rights and responsibilities.
Advocate K. Prithviraj Rai, former president of the Mangaluru BAR Association, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the importance of consumer awareness, stating, “Consumers should not fall victim to fraud while making purchases and must be well-informed about their rights. Every consumer should be aware of their rights and responsibilities.”
Dr. Abubakar Siddique, Coordinator of the University College Mangaluru collaboration, provided insights into the event’s significance. The program was presided over by Dr. Surfraz J. Hasim, Principal of P.A. First Grade College, Mangalore.
The event was also attended by esteemed guests, including Dr. Jayavanth Nayak, Professor of Economics at University College Mangaluru; Sharafuddin P.K., AGM (Campus) of PAET, Dr. Syed Ameen Ahmad, Dean of Student Academic Affairs, P.A. Educational Institutions; Dr. G. Harikrishnan, Vice Principal of P.A. First Grade College; and Mrs. Vanishree V., IQAC Coordinator.
The program was hosted by student Hiba Maryam, while Farhan delivered the welcome speech, and Tashmiya proposed the vote of thanks. The event commenced with a prayer by Irfad.
