Bhatkal: “Unnecessary dispute is being created in the hijab issue. Once the government enacts a law, it is the responsibility of everyone to follow them,” said Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti.

This was his response to a question posed by teachers during an interaction programme at the New English School in Bhatkal on Monday.

Horatti said, “Officials had to draw the attention of the government towards following rules. Such a situation is a result of the negligence of the government. So, the government must step in and set right the situation while ensuring that the issues do not cause any major impact on the minds of the people.”

Funds for playgrounds

He also said that steps will be taken to provide funds under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for the development of playgrounds in private schools.
