Bhatkal: Fire broke out at three different places in Bhatkal taluka on Friday, after which fire brigade personnel reached the spots to extinguish the fire.
The first incident happened in a forested area near Mavinkodla in Neergadde near Bailur. Upon receiving the news, the fire brigade team reached the spot and extinguished the fire in the 5 acre Akshiya plantation. The second incident took place at a timber factory in Bengre Panchayat area, wherein office cabins, chairs, CCTV cameras, printers, table chairs and wiring were burnt to ashes. The fire caused an estimated loss of about Rs 2 lakh. Due to the fire brigade personnel's timely intervention, equipment worth about Rs. 20 lakhs was saved from burning.
In the third incident, the fire broke out in a 5 acre forest located in Bilalkhand area in Sagar Road, where the fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and put out the fire.
The team of firefighting personnel participated in the operation was led by fire brigade PSI Ramesh Shetty with other personnels Shafi, Shiv Prasad Naik, Kumar Naik, Parushutam Naik, and Akshay Hiremat.
