Karwar: A fire mishap occurred due to a short circuit near the maternity ward of the district hospital in Karwar on Monday. Luckily, no major loss was incurred in the incident.

Hospital Electronic Department staff said that the short circuit took place due to current overflow.

As soon as the fire broke out, lactating mothers ran out of the ward and prevented major damage to life. The hospital staff called the fire personnel who brought the fire under control. Later, the burnt wires and devices were replaced.
